A CBU-59 cluster bomb splits open to release its bomblets after being dropped from an A-6E Intruder aircraft during an attack on an Iranian target. The attack is in retaliation for the mining of the guided missile frigate USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS (FFG-58).
