The Author

Bradley Peniston is managing editor of Defense News, the weekly newspaper of defense policy and procurement. He has covered the U.S. military in more than a dozen countries and spent time aboard more than 50 warships. His work has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Naval Institute Proceedings, and elsewhere.

No Higher Honor is Peniston's second book. His first, Around the World with the U.S. Navy, presented an on-the-scene look at the sea service at the end of the 20th century, describing its people, ships, and aircraft as they grappled with new demands from Iceland to Chile to Iraq.

Published by Naval Institute Press, the 275-page book contains 20 photos, several diagrams of the damage, and a muster list of the shipmates aboard the Roberts during its fight for survival.
